Pollination

Bumblebees

Bumblebees are used successfully all over the world for pollination. Unlike honey bees, bumblebees perform even when it’s cold or rainy. Several species available, they come complete and ready to work in these maintenance-free hive systems. Whether you need 20 bees for 20 plants, or want to pollinate many acres of fruit trees on schedule, there’s a box of bees for your needs! For open-air, tunnel or glasshouse pollination. Hives come with self-feeding systems making pollination for up to eight weeks a sure thing. Used by the world’s growers for over twenty years. Don’t be caught with a paint brush in your hand, BEE pro-active!

Trapping and Monitoring

Sexual Pheromone Lures

Pheromone Lures are easy-to-use gum drop shaped tabs placed on sticky cards to provide earlier detection and attract 3 to 4 times as many insects to cards. Can also be used with CO2 dosing to entice insects out into the open just before a spray for a 30% increase in kill.

Lures are specific to the pest insect. List

Beneficials battle: Aphids, Bulb mite, Fungus gnat, Leaf miner, Mealy bug, Pear psylla, Shore fly, Spider mites, Thrips, White fly

Q: Can I still spray when needed?
A: Yes. Start early with biologicals, then spray hot spots as needed.

Q: Do you have a list of chemicals I can use in conjunction with the beneficials?
A: Yes.

Q: Do I need to spend time studying to integrate this new approach into my IPM?
A: No. We have single page sheets that outline the simple steps to get started.

Q: Will using biological controls cost more than spraying?
A: No. Current cost comparisons show significant savings over chemical based operations.

No picture- Nematodes are not pretty, just effective.
Predator Nematodes

Predator Nematodes are applied as a soil drench to combat: Moths, Sciarids, Slugs, Vine weevil larvae, White grub
